If you're serious: Well then why is abstaining from drugs considered edge? That's just obeying the law too. I always thought the "you're not edge if you're under 21" thing was complete bullshit. Everything is easily accessible to minors.

There was a straight edge 'crew' at fvhs when I went there. These were the infamous kids that had either never heard minor threat or who said "oh, aren't they an oldschool band?" |

| I've more or less been Straight Edge Positive Youth Crew Core of America Until Death (or, for short, SEPYCCOAUD) for almost seven years. That said, I recently tried actual beer for the first time the other month, not because I had any interest in being drunk (I've never been drunk or high, and have never been interested in becoming so), but because I enjoy the taste of nonalcoholic beer, and I was at a point where I was questioning my initial motivations for not responsibly drinking in the first place. When I first identified myself as straight edge, it was mainly a reaction against the many kids around me who seemed to be drinking not because they actually enjoyed it or knew what they were doing, but because it seemed like the cool, rebellious thing to do as an angsty teenager. I had my share of angst, but considering that I never cared for the taste of booze in the first place, I wasn't about to just go ahead and partake in some activity just because it seemed like the thing to do. I also had parents who offered (though I never obliged) to buy me beer or pot on request, so there was never any sort of rebellious element for me either. That said, after I turned 21, and after realizing that I liked the taste of so-called "crappy" nonalcoholic beer (I initially tried O'Douls as a goof, go figure), I started feeling curious about trying the real stuff. Mulling it over for a while, I realized that there wouldn't be much point in me not trying something I had a passing interest, provided of course I did it responsibly, just because I had gone so many years having not done it before. So I tried real beer one night, a few sips of a few different brands, found that one brand was okay at best and most were far closer to just tasting plain shitty, and haven't had an interest in trying any sort of alcoholic beverage since. And y'know, since trying real beer, I feel better about myself being sober now that I'm sure it still makes sense to me, rather than treating it as a mere holdover from my glory days as a dorky hardcore-obsessed teenager.
And that's my autobiography. |

I've been a beer snob since I was like 16 haha no shit either. I appreciate a fine beer as beer has been an essential part of civilization for thousands of years. Some people think that beer is one reason humans settled down instead of roaming. You can't brew beer if you're constantly moving. I do get drunk from time to time. Mostly I enjoy my favorite beers until I have a nice buzz. I can appreciate a sXe person that has actually TRIED beer or alcohol but the ones that have never had it puzzle me. |

I cannot believe there are a group of kids from fv that actually consider themselves to be in a straight edge gang. |

This doesn't surprise me at all. Every once in awhile I see the kids who were in the 'straight edge gang' at FVHS when I went there. Now they're super into raves, dubstep, ecstasy and drinking. Didn't see that one coming... haha. These are also the same kids who didn't know who Minor Threat was, claimed to have friends in "xFxSxUx, homie!", and used to tell me "Punk's dead and your next!", which was never really a serious threat but made me fucking hate them even more.
I hope they all die in drug related car accidents and as they're dying in the street their last glimpse will be of their huge XXX leg tattoo and then they will finally realize how large a pile of human waste they actually are. |

| being drug free is great. i hate drugs! and whats wrong with drinking responsibly? just a buzz or a casual drink is fine i think
maybe ian feels just abusing is really lame. i cant see him hating on peeps who drink very little and for the taste.
and sxe has rules, i dont like rules.
the FVHS sxe crews have gotten so bad over just a couple months all the non gangsta sxe kids should go fight them haha. |
